Omaha Kings Outdoor Summer Series + Charity Match

by Natalie Viel

Omaha, NE — The Omaha Kings are making waves this summer with a series of outdoor exhibition matches during their off-season. Kicking off their summer series, the Kings played their first exhibition match against the UPSL's Sioux United FC on June 8th, 2024. The Kings claimed a 3-1 victory at the Papillion Landing Sports Complex that day, seeing goals from Ali Sodal, Say Say, and Pedro Tostes.

Today, thanks to Nebraska Motors LLC for their supporting sponsorship of the Kings, the team is on the road to face their friends at Sioux United FC once again, this time in a special "Charity Exhibition Match" at South Sioux City High School Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00pm, preceded by donation collection starting at 11:30am. Sioux United FC is mobilizing efforts to gather essential disaster relief items such as toiletries, groceries, and more, to aid residents affected by recent catastrophic floods in Hawaerden, IA, and the surrounding areas.

"We're thrilled to participate in this meaningful event," said Emmanuel Viel, Founder and Head Coach of the Omaha Kings. "It's not just about soccer; it's about rallying together to support not only our community, but our neighboring communities during these challenging times."

Admission to the game is free, with organizers encouraging attendees to bring donation items to contribute to the cause. The Kings are committed to continuing their summer exhibition series, with more matches in the pipeline. Stay tuned for announcements on upcoming games as they are confirmed.
